Indeed, Tommy Four Seven blows the competition here right out of the frame. His remix is a torrid off beat affair, with devastating bass response, immense echo and percussion drops so deadly your speaker membranes will cave in. Not an obvious floor filler, just like the vast majority of his obsessive output, but given you've got what it takes to unleash this beast upon a starving party crowd, your decision may prove far more rewarding than you could have ever imagined. The overpowering sound and the overwhelming energy contained in just a little over five minutes is staggering. The production vaults are peerless, point. Nobody on this record has a patch on T47.That said, it is with a sad heart that I have to report that this beauty of a record has a pressing error - yes you guessed it - right in the middle of Tommy Four Seven's take on Cave, just as things are really about to set off. So far, a friend of mine in Zagreb has purchased two copies, and both had the same problem at the exact same place: the needle gets stuck in the groove, and turns the track into a locked groove midway in. I've also tried playing a copy in Techno Import, Paris, and the same thing happened. Then, we tried two copies over at the Hardwax shop in Berlin. Same issue. The guys were actually curious enough that they put some time into resolving the problem, no help there. It just doesn't matter how much pressure you lay on the stylus, this track will only move forward if you manually push the tone arm, thus completely ruining the track's flow.I would love to get some feedback on this, as thus far I have tried out or heard reports of about six copies in three different countries, and all had the same defect. If there is anyone with a fully functional copy, please get in touch and let me know where you got your copy from. The Tommy Four Seven remix is ridiculously good, it is such a shame that a jewel of a track that it is got marred by pressing plant negligence...
The Tommy Four Seven remix is just mind-blowing. It is precisely this one sample/bitcrushed noise used here that makes this tune so sick and devastating and furthermore gives it a high recognition value. Looking forward to new stuff from him!
