Jabberwocky is a progressive rock album released in 1999 by British keyboardists Clive Nolan and Oliver Wakeman. It was the first of two albums released by the duo. The album is based on the homonymous poem by Lewis Carroll. It is organised as a cantata, with four singers taking the main roles of The Boy, The Girl, The Jabberwock and The Tree, plus a narrator who reads excerpts of the original poem and a choir that sings fragments taken from the Divina Commedia.
Jabberwocky is a music studio album recording by NOLAN & WAKEMAN ( Rock) released in 1999 on cd, lp, vinyl and/or cassette. Oliver is the second eldest son of ex-YES keyboard player Rick WAKEMAN. On this album it is his son that is in the spotlight and Rick is handling the narration. Oliver is carrying his father's legacy with honour, and last year he did his first solo album called "Heaven's Isle". CLIVE NOLAN's colaboration with -Rick Wakeman's eldest son- OLIVER WAKEMAN begun through their meeting on a radio show of Mike Portnoy.
He worked with Clive Nolan (of Arena) on two progressive rock concept albums, Jabberwocky (released 1999) and Hound of the Baskervilles. Wakeman worked with Steve Howe for several years, (originally his father's bandmate in Yes and later as a bandmate when Oliver joined Yes himself). The two lived fairly close to each other in south-west England.
