I would also imagine the selection of songs from the album was difficult, yet Sherwood does throw is a few curveballs. On the Silent Wings of Freedom, originally from 1978’s Tormato is a brilliant start to A Life in Yes. Since the master tapes of Tormato are missing, a Steven Wilson style remix is unlikely. Sherwood does a brilliant job capturing the essence of the song, while making it sound modern and clear . This item: A Life In Yes: The Chris Squire Tribute, Various.

com, the producers did their own selection as their best tracks, and that gave a spot to Behind Closed Doors, Doubts Even Here and 1963 on the album. The album is an enhanced CD, featuring the video of David Potts' cover of The Village, done by François-Marc Loze from France, who won the video competition. 106 covers were submitted, only 15 made it to the album, with artists from 8 different countries this time around. This time, all bands could only submit one cover, and only one cover per song could enter the final round. The final round had 64 covers in it.
The album was released in Brazil in 1997, under 'The The Records'. Released in 2000 by Si Records.

This excellent CD finds Hersch (who evolved into one of the finest acoustic pianists of the 1990s) paying tribute to the person he has been compared to more than anyone: Bill Evans. To be sure, Evans has had a major impact on Hersch's crystalline, elegant pianism.
