This pressing sounds terrible. Any suggestions for best sounding pressing of this LP? Thanks.
MilsoN
I have a black vinyl copy. No poster and no obi. I can't remember where I got it.

Took a chance and purchased this because it was only $20. Was very surprised how good it sounds. Don't have an original but this reissue doesn't suffer from an over saturation of reverb or layering effects like I've heard the original does. The clarity is spectacular, everything can be heard crystal clear and at no times to things get muddy or distorted. The drums are punchy and the vocals are up front creating good prescence. The bass hits pretty hard too, exceptional low end, especially on "Baby's on Fire" the solo lead guitar on that track is amazing as well. The sound is very full and dynamic, don't see how this can sound bad at all. Very pleased with this reissue. Also looks like it uses the Abbey Road masters.

Let's say it in a few words. There's definitely no need to have this Re-issue compared to the UK first press. The UK first press beats this one.

My copy has a censored front sleeve. The image on the playing card is white. Pink rim Island label. ILPS 9268

Does anyone else have a pressing where there is this low looping echo between tracks A1 and A2? Mine has this audible sound in-between the tracks.

excellent release.i think after the original this pressing is the best to buy, maybe the sound quality of this edition is equal or better than the original!highly reccommended!!!

download code only gets you a cd rip in .wav
Vathennece
I thought someone from the Hoffman forums did a waveform comparison and confirmed that they weren’t the DSD versions?
Uscavel
I think the distinction here is that the download codes are rips from the mid-2000s CDs and not from the new remastering as used on the LPs.
Fog
you should mark this as a joke... Wav is more worthful than a simple mp3...
Precious
Getting a WAV file "only" is great (for me anyway). I'd much rather have a WAV instead of an mp3. You can convert it to anything you need. I would prefer 24 bit wav but...you can't have everything. I'd rather have the quality of the WAV than the conveinience of some lower quailty format.

Finally, a remaster worth the effort! Having owned this in various formats since first being given a pre-recorded tape as a teenager, it's nothing short of amazing, how much brighter and more detailed this new version sounds. Earlier versions, and even the remastered tracks that made it onto the Eno Box sets, have always suffered IMO from an excess of warmth/tape saturation, which tended to smother the dense instrumentation. I can imagine how great it all sounded in 1973, but it hasn't aged well, and this remastering lives up to the hype, stripping some thick varnish away, and bringing in some much needed space, light and clarity to the arrangements, and now Blank Frank has been reborn, good job! Nice pressing too, heavy and flat and plays beautifully. A lyric sheet would have been a nice touch, but you can't have everything, apparently...

same issue with all of them i'm afraid. Worst affected appears to be taking tiger mountain

I just opened my copy today and was pretty bummed to hear some really bizarre audio inconsistencies. For the most part, the record sounds amazing, the upper frequencies in particular sizzle with shimmering beauty. The problem I'm finding is that certain tracks have a sort of 'cutting in-and-out' of the instrumental tracks. It's the strangest thing because Eno's voice remains totally clear, while the drums and guitar will sort of sputter underneath. I thought I was maybe just hearing it wrong as I'm not so familiarwith the recording, so I cross-referenced it with both spotify and the download wav files. Both digital copies sound great and totallyflawless. I'm wondering if you have heard anything like this on your copy? Tracks to check would be Driving Me Backwards and DeadFinks Don't Talk. I purchased all 4 reissues and have yet to only listen to Warm Jets. I'm really hoping this strange audio abnormality doesn't affect the other 3 records, as they were quite expensive. If you happen to notice the same issue it would be good to hear from you. Cheers.
AGAD
on the other hand you got a certification about the mastering instead of a lyric sheet, but I am agree to you, a nice lyric sheet would the extra extra for this fantastic produktion...

this is the closest i can find, but my matrix says t1-ilps 9268 a-1

That makes three of us! My matrix is the same.

chahooa this is the closest i can find, but my matrix says t1-ilps 9268 a-1 I just got this with the same matrix. Do you know if it's a first press? How do you like the sound?

Is this entry a duplicate of this one: https://www.discogs.com/Brian-Eno-Here-Come-The-Warm-Jets/release/1242887 ?
Twentyfirstfinger
This entry lacks the "Printed In Canada" at the bottom right of rear jacket.
TheMoonix
Yes, I think it's duplicated... I don´t see any difference.
Faell
Mine came with a green and red obi. I think I got it through Sound Stage Direct....
Gorisar
I also have obtained this unofficial press but on a gray colored vinyl. Sound is a little flat but thankfully my components brought out a good enough sound. No distortion on this copy but I do see this being an inferior mix or a cd rip.
Sharpbrew
This release looks NICE! Matte sleeve, heavy flat vinyl & even a Eno 12x12 poster/insert. BUT, i dont know if its just my copy but sound quality is somewhat disappointing and flat&muddy. The vocals also seem a little suppressed. Luckily i found it at a good price but did anyone else find the sound quality not very good?
Cordabor
This I'm pretty sure is a bootleg. The Japanese writing on the obi is totally unreadable to a Japanese reader. In other words, fake Japanese writing. I know, because my wife is Japanese, and when she saw it, she laughted hysterically. On the other hand, it is a well-made bootleg. They must have ripped it off a CD recording.
Westened
Am I the only one who owns this CD and finds that there are glitches on many tracks? Very audible clicks in the first track, starting around 0:15 and on, or on Some Faraway Beach when Eno starts to sing?
Onnell
I have no idea how this sounds but just like to take a moment to say hi to everybody!
Ramsey`s
I think this is what I have but on red vinyl and no OBI.

Unofficial reissue/facsimile of the same Japanese release from 1977.

What can one say about "Here Come the Warm Jets?" The recording of a lifetime, only a few years after "Sgt. Pepper" but just as pivotal in its own way. For a generation that was souring on the rapidly decaying world of rock (from the peak year for bands of 1971 to the introduction of dreary vocalists in 1972), "HCtWJ" was the stepping off into a different world. Thanks, Eno, thanks for this one, here I am almost 40 years later and the title track still brings tears. I'll probably have it played at my funeral.
Dagdalas
Eno's first step out of the Roxy Music life support system is a thrilling triumph of unfettered creativity gone wild! Even the segues between songs achieve maximum impact. Is there a more electric moment that the last note of the pensive "On Some Faraway Beach" juxtaposed next to the cold opening of "Blank Frank?" "Baby's On Fire" features Robert Fripp's most ridiculously aggressive soloing ever! The album is suggestive of a larger world and an all time classic of creative and exciting rock music.http://postpunkmonk.wordpress.comFor more ruminations on the Fresh New Sound Of Yesterday
