The Plaza Hotel turned into a hive of Tony Awards congregants June 9 following the Radio City Music Hall ceremony. As the black-tie crowd crowded the bars and food stations, everyone agreed it was a great show with a great host, Neil Patrick Harris. Martin Short missed the Tony show completely - for a very good reason. I just came from the Central Park where we’re rehearsing ‘Pirates of Penzance’ for Monday night, said Short. It’s a benefit for Nora Ephron, we’re opening the Delacorte Theater: Kevin Kline, Eric Idle, Glenn Close, Jonathan Groff. He came to congratulate Andrea Martin. We’ve known each other 40 years, we did ‘Godspell’ in ’72 together. She wasn’t convinced she was going to win, but we all knew. The Kinky Boots crowd partied at Ruby Foo’s near Times Square. This is the original dream.
