Compared to the album, this EP is a straightforward post-BM, hardcore combination, much more pop-oriented and melodic (to my ears) in many ways, and still tough and hard-bitten as well. The screaming vocals are still present but are far back in the mix so they're not nearly so irritating. Any quiet bits that appear in the songs sound more genuine, as if they have reason to be there, and not just to show how well the band handles the dynamics and intensity of its music.
