Spice is the debut studio album by English girl group the Spice Girls. It was released on 19 September 1996 by Virgin Records.
The group then called Touch felt insecure about the lack of agreement and were frustrated with the direction in which Management Heart was driving them. In October 1994, armed with a catalog of demos and dance routines, the group began touring management agencies. They began to meet with producers, musicians and other business executives, among them were the composer Tim Hawes, and writers Richard Stannard and Matt Rowe.

Spice doesn't need to be original to be entertaining, nor do the Spice Girls need to be good singers. It just has to be executed well, and the innocuous dance-pop of Spice is infectious. The rest of the album isn't quite as catchy as those first three singles, but it is still irresistible, immaculately crafted pop that gets by on the skills of the producer and the charisma of the five Spices.
