The electronic music group Tangerine Dream has released more than one hundred albums, singles, EPs and compilations since the group was formed in 1967. Tangerine Dream's releases have been divided into several eras based on the record label of the time. Tangerine Dream's first releases were on the Ohr label.
Both Schnitzler and Schulze would depart after this album, with the latter forming Ash Ra Tempel and going on to become the other major proponent of the "Berlin School". Second album, Alpha Centauri, saw the addition of long-standing member Christopher Franke replacing Schulze, while Peter Baumann would come aboard for Zeit. Although unissued until the mid-1980s, Green Desert was recorded in 1973. The core of Froese, Franke and Baumann would sign to Virgin Records in 1973, and the subsequent release Phaedra would cement their style for years to come.
The tracks 'Logos Part 1' and 'Logos Part 2' from the original album have been joined on this release to create the single track 'Logos'. Release artwork information varies, with 'Tangerine Dream Live' on front cover & spine, 'Tangerine Dream Live 1982' on rear & CD silkscreen. As CD matrix is pointing Sony DADC as its manufacturer, this is not the 1995 release. It seems to be a repress of the Optimal Media release Logos Live.
