Adam Ant is a British post-punk, new wave artist. He was the lead singer of Adam & the Ants until their split in early 1982, by which time they had recorded three studio albums. Ant, however, would go solo, and release an additional five studio albums throughout the 1980s and early 1990s (one other album recorded during this period remains unreleased). After a gap of nearly 18 years, his sixth solo studio album was released in early 2013.

Their debut album, the largely cheerless yet still highly rated Dirk Wears White Sox was a major influence on the Goth movement, and placed them firmly within the punk/art genre. Although it didn't do much in the "proper" charts, it stayed in the indies for 90 weeks, reaching No. 1. But this wasn't good enough for Ant, so he enlisted the services of Malcolm McLaren, offering him £1,000 to act as manager. The end of the first Adam and the Ants tour was really strange, because it's like, "We're not playing tomorrow, what do we do now?". Live At The BBC (CD, 2001). Here I bring you the amazing Adam Ant and Band performing LIVE at the Roundhouse in Camden Town on 21st December 2017. This is part of The Singles Tour – Anthems 2107. Tracks included (of various lengths) are as follows: Beat My Guest; Dog Eat Dog; Apollo 9; Antmusic; Desperate But Not Serious; Cartrouble Part 2; Zerox; Young Parisians; Christian D’Or; Kings of the Wild Frontier; B-Side Baby; Goody Two Shoes; Lady; Red Scab and Physical (You’re So).

The remastered LIVE AT THE BBC has much better sound than its 1994 predecessor. I listened to both versions back to back; the old version is more bass-heavy and muddy, while the vocals and instruments are crystal-clear on the new version. The remastering team has also tweaked the album in a few places: there are now two versions of the "From Us To You" theme, one an opening version with a BBC announcer exclaiming, "It's the Beatles!"; the closing version, added to the end of Disc 2, is the one without that spoken intro that appeared on the 1994 album, followed by another. According to the LIVE AT THE BBC liner notes, no quality tape of the three 1962 broadcasts exists. Perhaps legal reasons also got in the way, or maybe Apple didn't want to feature any tracks with Pete Best on drums.
