Thighpaulsandra shows his ability to create and tweak uniquely rich noises into atmosphere- above and beyond most industrial & experimental artists. The biggest weakness in Chamber Music is too much collecting and collage, rather than any cohesive arrangement- too much putting forth of sounds without taking away and without any masterful progression. That sounds collaged are impressive, and there are moments where real progression creeps in- rather than simply going from one section of noise to another without any grander vision like most of the album does.Tracks 2 & 3 are the keepers.
Thighpaulsandra was then the 5th wheel carriage of Coil latest version, but this album is not just another album of Coil. We can recognize Thighpaulsandra's stye anyway, the next crazy-crazy synth parts he inflicted on Coil for our greatest happiness, but at the same time we feel it is not here''reframed/controled" by Christopherson ! While this album may be seen also as a tribute to Zappa with a whole series of winks ranging from Hot-rats to Jazz from hell. Resurrection of a kitcho-destroyo-industrial- Ian Underwood. The last piece is largely a "how to" Brian Eno at the beginning, perhaps finally the piece the closest to Coil. I do not know if you can find your way in what i'm saying? In short, a kind of great English non-sense style. Great!
