Whenever I play this music to my friends they describe it as a clatter. Indeed - this is very noisy music, sometimes it sounds very harsh. But it holds some magic inside this noise. I feel hypnotized especially by the lecture samples in the first track, but also by all those oneiric and bright melodies - very simple and memorable, yet very tasteful. I just feel like I was somewhere else when I listen to this album. I can't actually describe what hooks me in this music - maybe because mostly I listen to melodic trance I am not accustomed with this kind of aesthetics. But for sure there is something very specific, original and hooking if it can attract trance music lover. Warmly recommended. And many thanks to some Russian soul who offered this album here at Discogs and let me hold it right now for real, and not only as a bunch of files on HDD.
This is quite literally the best IDM/DnB album I've ever heard. Its lush, beautiful soundscapes, highly detailed programming, and extremely memorable melodies make it stand out far beyond any electronic music I've set my ears, mind, and heart to. I get many shivers of emotion throughout listening to Xpom. Here is a dazzling piece of art not to be missed.
Bought this on my trip to Russia. Wouldn't actually classify this as 24-track genuine d 'n b record, but more a well-balanced mix of idm tunes with great breaks (and occasional voices) & sweet jungle anthems combined with lush scapes. Very recommended if you want to hear one of the better releases of contemporary russian electronics.
