This recording has been my greatest motivation to learn overtone singing from the master himself. To this day it seems amazing to me that he was able to perform around 24 minutes per piece all in one go and completely improvised. There are no repetitions, the whole cd is surprise after surprise of beautiful small compositions of the moment. The tambura, played in Michael Vetters' unique style, is a wonderful foundation. At some times Michael shows the unexpected capabilities as a solo instrument for the tambura. A haunting moment that give me a specific chill is the moment that the tambura goes silent and two overtone melodies surge at the same time. This is the message that came to me: there are no limits, reach for the sky!Trivia: Michael Vetter told me that he was not so pleased with the technician that apparently smoothed the recording to suite the ear of the listener. However there are no mistakes in improvisational music, so Michaels' conviction, only opportunities to walk a new path.
